Ordering:

How do I order a video?

  • Place your order online and supply enough applicable information about your athlete and needs.
  • We will respond promptly with any additional information we may require.
  • When complete, we upload your video to YouTube and send you the links to share your video at your discretion, or we can send you the file via Google Drive or DropBox.
  • Then you can email the link to prospective coaches.

How do I send my video footage?

  • Send us your footage in any digital format and we will turn it into an exciting reel that highlights your athletic skills.
  • Video already online? Just send us the link with time stamps of the clips you want to use and we can download it.

What to Include:

What plays should I include?

  • Find highlights that really stand out and will make a coach want to reach out and learn more about you.
  • Prioritize clips by front loading your most impactful plays first.
  • Always add plays that show your effort and drive; not just easy touchdowns your line created a big hole for, or the simple one hopper ground out to first.

What if I want to add my own music?

  • Some songs can’t be included for copyright reasons and some songs just may not be appropriate. If you are using it for your own personal use, and not on social media, you can choose whatever songs you like.

Access:

How will coaches or recruiters have access to my reel?

  • When your video is finished, we will send you a link that you can e-mail coaches and recruiters for online viewing or we can send you your video file that you can upload to your own YouTube or recruiting profile page.

Is the finished Reel accessible for the public to view?

  • We send the final video through an “unlisted” link, which means that only people with the link can see the video. However, if you give us permission we will list your Reel as “public”.

Making Changes:

Can I make changes after receiving the link?

  • We do our very best to ensure we get it right the first time. If you do find something you would like changed, let us know and we will promptly edit it and resend the link.

Can I add more footage later on?

  • YSP encourages our customers to add to their highlight video as they get more great footage and clips. You don’t have to completely re-buy a new highlight video. There is a $50 per hour fee for adding more plays to your existing reel. We would be happy to give you an estimate when you’re ready.

How Long Will It Take:

How long does it take to complete a Recruitment Reel or Highlight Reel?

  • Recruitment Reels typically take 7 days from point of order. We will notify you upon receipt of your order if, for some reason, it may take longer. We do recognize that you may have a time sensitive situation, so please ask about rush order service.
  • Highlight Reels are typically done at the end of a season, and are on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you upon receipt of your order what the estimated delivery time may be.

How long does it take to receive a Game Clip?

  • Game Clips will be sent to you within 24 hours.

How long does it take to receive Game Film?

  • We start the editing process following the game and typically send you the link within 3 days. More often than not, we get it to you within 24 to 48 hours.

What does YSP use to edit film?

  • We use a 100% customized HD editing process using Final Cut Pro, a professional editing software that many Hollywood movies use for their initial editing. YSP manually edits each video and reviews the final edits before sending you a preview.

Does YSP get permission to film youth sports?

  • Since 2013, YSP has made it a priority to build relationships with various sports organizations, and their presidents, managers and coaches, across Vancouver Island in an effort to gain full transparency access to film their sport for families. YSP has the utmost respect for youth organizations, and works hard to represent their brand and families to the best of our abilities. We also have media credentials, if needed.
